Added-value plants will vie for honours at IPM Essen 2020

The Show Your Colours Awards for the best added-value shrubs and perennials will be presented for the fifth time during IPM 2020 at Essen in Germany (28-31 January).

All IPM exhibitors with woody plants and perennials can submit plants or plant concepts for this award. The Award is organised by Messe Essen in cooperation with BIZZ Communications.

Show Your Colours 2020 is all about the added value of the plant, which is expressed in the story behind it. Both plants and plant concepts can be submitted.

A sole plant on the shelves may not always be enough to tempt a consumer to buy. A garden plant can be very pretty by itself, but that is not always the case. With added value in the shape of a label, nice pot, well-thought-out concept, or simply by providing more information about the plant, a plant can generate additional attention. These days, companies make good use of this by giving their plant this ‘something extra’. The Show Your Colours Award was introduced to motivate the fair’s participants to put their added-value products in the spotlight.

Participation is free of charge. Exhibitors are requested to enter their plant and/or concept via the digital registration form by 20 December 2019. The professional jury will nominate 10 plants from all those submitted and the shortlisted plants will be exhibited in Hall 8 during the fair. Visitors can vote for their favourite plant.

Judging takes place on Thursday 30 January, with the result announced on the BIZZ Holland stand (A40) in Hall 8 at 3.00 pm.
