It's all to play for in June, predicts GTN Bestsellers

Despite a month of May when all the GTN Bestsellers indexes show huge drops for the month year on year, ending the half year at 2% up for All Volume sales is still in reach –  all that’s needed is to match, or better, sales volumes for June 2015 (the red line in our graph above) and those gains from the early part of the season will be back in play.

Early indications are that Bank Holiday Monday (not included in this week’s GTN Bestsellers analysis) was particularly busy.

Andy Bunker of Alton Garden centre told us: “We had our best day ever by some 15% in the planteria, with trolley upon trolley of plants going out in excess of £150.”

GTN Bestsellers Top 50 sales volumes compared to the same week last year...
  • Garden Products - down 17%
  • Veg-2-Gro - down 2%
  • Growing Media - down 6%
  • All Plants Index - up 6%
  • All Items Index - static 0%
