Cyclamen sales are thriving in the Summer sun

Sales of cyclamen, mainly mini cyclamen, grew by 50% last week according to the EPoS data supplied to GTN Bestsellers by garden centres across the UK. That means they hold the title of No 1 bestselling plant for the second week running.

Dianthus and Pansy sales also increased week on week to move up to Nos 2 and 3 respectively while Pelargonium sales are defiantly on the wane as they drop to No 6.

The biggest sales increases in this week’s chart go to Asters, up by 154%, Gentiana, up by 148%, and Platycodon (Chinese balloon flower) up by 138%.

With heathers coming into flower it’s no surprise to see both genus Ericacea and Calluna move up in sales.  Ericacea heathers move up 9 places to No 13 while Calluna heathers come into our Top 50 for the first time at No 33.
