Freshly cooked meat products and Yorkshire produce including craft beer and cocktails will take centre stage when Tong Garden Centre hosts its annual Butchers' BBQ Tasting Day later this month (29 June).
The in house butchery team, which makes fresh produce daily both for the food hall and the 300-seater restaurant, will barbecue home-made burgers, sausages and kebabs, including a limited edition tandoori mango turkey grill stick.
Visitors will have the opportunity to vote on whether the grill stick, made from prime British turkey and Bradford-based Marrds' new mango-infused tandoori marinade, gets a permanent place in the food hall's seasonal range.
Tong's food and gift manager, Janice Astbury said Welsh dragon, piri piri, caramelized onion and Old English sausages, homemade burgers including black pudding and apple, lamb and mint plus hot and spicy flavours, would also be on offer. The butchers will be on hand to answer BBQ cooking questions.
Yorkshire Heart Brewery's ales, Marrds' Marinades, Fruity Tipples' vodka-based cocktails and Cottage Delight chutneys and sauces will add to the taster experience.
