Christmas sell-out in September

The last week of the school holidays was a good one for garden centre trading with sales volumes up week on week and up again on last year.

Plants and garden products fared best, giving further indication that we could be in for a good gardening September.

Meanwhile preparations for Christmas continue at speed. Notcutts opened their model Christmas store display at Solihull on Wednesday, and at Brookside in Kent, all of their grotto tickets were sold via Facebook within an hour and a half of going on general sale.  Now that is a benefit of being a regular award-winning destination!
