Haggis sells for £500 a plate as the Greenfingers Challenge gets Conference off to a tasty start
The evening part of The GCA Greenfingers Challenge, organised by Guy and Carol Topping include quiz rounds .... mixed with fun games ..... where teams had to buy their places in the events - that's when a plate of haggis was bought for a £500 donation to Greenfingers.
The team including Martin Cowell, Matthew Bent, Rod Slater and Richard Newton came out the winners with the McStewarts notably in 14th place.
Another memorable Guy Topping auction ended the evening taking the total in the night to a whopping £27,440.
Any GCA delegates wishing to add to the fundraising during conference today or tomorrow should contact Ian Flounders, Guy Topping or Pippa McKean.
Can we get the total well over £30,000 by the end of conference?
