Honorary Greats Award for John Athwal

The outstanding achievements of John Athwal, managing director of leading Christmas supplier, Premier Decorations has been recognised by the gift industry as he was presented with an Honorary Achievement Award at the Greats Gift Retailer Awards in London last week.

Having already received an OBE from the Queen earlier this year, this new award is another great honour for John who not only celebrates his 65th birthday this year, but also the 30th anniversary of Premier Decorations.

Sponsored by the Giftware Association, the Honorary Achievement Award acknowledges John’s entrepreneurial skills which led him from humble beginnings when he arrived in the UK from Punjab at the age of eight in 1961 – to now heading one of the most successful companies in the Christmas and gift industry today.

John comments: “I am overwhelmed to been given this prestigious award, it was totally unexpected and a great tribute to have been recognised by industry colleagues and peers, a number of whom I have worked with for many, many years.”

More information about John’s achievements can be read on Premier Decoration’s website.
