Former Dobbies MD is called to the (handle)bar

Andy King, MD of Dobbies Garden Centres under Tesco ownership, has moved to Evans Cycles as CEO.

King, a former MD of Notcutts and global marketing director at The Body Shop and Mothercare, replaces Nick Wilkinson, who left the company earlier this year.

King, a keen cyclist, said: “ I can honestly say I have long wanted to work at Evans Cycles, so taking the job was an easy decision for me. I’m a big fan of the company and its aim to be at the heart of UK cycling as both a retailer and a supporter of grassroots cycling.”

George Moss, partner at ECI Partners, who invested in Evans Cycles in May 2015, said Andy was bringing great knowledge and experience from a career in specialist retail. “We are looking forward to working with him through this next period of growth.”

Evans Cycles was founded in 1921. The company has 60 stores nationwide.
