Gardena honoured with Red Dot Design Awards

The Gardena ClickUp! range, the RollUp range of wall-mounted and garden hose boxes as well as the new robotic lawnmower SILENO minimo have been awarded the highly coveted Red Dot Design Award 2021.

One handle, a whole host of possibilities. The GARDENA ClickUp! offers garden lovers the opportunity to change the design of their garden throughout the year with a variety of decorative features.

ClickUp! – the new, modern lifestyle system for the garden – consists of a handle and various attachments, providing gardeners with a wide range of options, right throughout the year. The insect hotel, flower bowl, rain gauge, torch fireplace and bird feeder can be mounted on the handle with a single click and blend in beautifully with their green surroundings. The geometric design of the attachments is simple yet sophisticated, combining a lifestyle product with clever functionality.

The wall-mounted and garden hose boxes from the new RollUp range are the perfect solution for walls or the ground. They enable the hose to be rolled up precisely and evenly, without requiring any effort. As the boxes are usually permanently attached directly to the wall of a house, they have a simple, restrained and more architectural design to enable them to blend in as much as possible with their surroundings. What’s more, the two new garden hose boxes are fixed into the ground using a ground spike, which enables them to be used in an even more flexible way.

The jury was also impressed by the SILENO minimo. The smallest GARDENA robotic lawnmower is extremely compact; it can be connected to a smartphone at close range and easily controlled using the new Bluetooth® app. The typical GARDENA design with softly flowing, yet clearly defined lines lends the lawnmower a friendly appearance. At the same time, the design is the visualisation of the cutting-edge technology and high quality standards on which the product is based.

To be awarded the highly coveted, internationally renowned Design Award, the products have to impress the jury in several respects. Consisting of 50 international experts, the jury evaluates the products in terms of their degree of innovation, functionality and formal quality. However, the products must also meet the requirements where ergonomics, durability and ecological compatibility are concerned. GARDENA is therefore proud to have received the awards for several of its new products for the 2021 season.

The origins of the Red Dot Design Award extend back for more than 60 years. Today, the award is considered one of the most desirable quality seals for good design.
