New Year’s Honours for garden industry figures - UPDATED

A number of personalities from within the horticultural world have been recognised in the New Year’s Honours list, including British Empire Medals for Peter Hulatt, Managing Director of Camden Garden Centre, for services to the Camden Garden Centre Charitable Trust and Ken White Chairman of Frosts Landscapes, also Co-Founder and Trustee of charity Supershoes, for services to Children and Young People with Paediatric Cancer. 

 

A CBE was awarded to author and broadcaster Alan Titchmarsh for services to horticulture and to charity.

 

Director of Crocus.co.uk, Mark Fane, received an MBE.  Having recently stepped down as chair of the Garden Museum, his award was given for services to horticulture.  

 

An MBE was also awarded to Susan Medway, the Director and Curator of Chelsea Physic Garden, for services to horticulture and charity.

 

Gill Hodgson, the founder of Flowers From the Farm in Yorkshire, has been awarded an MBE for services to floristry.
