Sales head for a record November

Three weeks into November and the volume sales data for GTN Bestsellers indictates we are heading for a record month. So far November total volume sales are running 13% ahead of last year with Christmas, Garden Products and Growing Media sectors all performing well.

With Christmas grottos opening now garden centre owners will be hoping their seasonal footfall continues to grow.

At Brookside Garden Centre in Kent, where they have not created their award winning grotto this year, they were concerned that would have a negative effect. So far the reverse seems to be the case. With elements of the grotto added into displays, sales have been a third higher than last year already.

How are you converting grotto footfall into sales, or do you feel it’s best to concentrate on great Christmas product displays to drive sales?   Email trevor.pfeiffer@tgcmc.co.uk with your comments.
