Autumn gardening activity boosts growing media sales

While total growing media sales dropped off during the first week of October, sales were ahead of last year for the fourth week since the start of September.

This year’s Autumn gardening activity rush has helped overall growing media sales get back to only 1.2% down year on year.  After the horrible start to the season in March and April that is a fantastic recovery.

Highlights were:

  • Westland Multi Purpose Compost, 70 litres, climbed 24 places up the chart to No 5.
  • Evergreen Garden Care Miracle-Gro All Purpose Compost, 56 litres, moved up 11 places to No 8.
  • Westland The Gardener’s Soil Conditioner, 50 litres, was the highest re-entry of the week, back in at No 21.
