Greenfingers and Homebase announce new collaboration

The horticultural charity Greenfingers has announced a new partnership with leading home and garden retailer Homebase.

The new three-year long partnership between Greenfingers and Homebase will see the two organisations joining forces on a number of joint initiatives.

The first venture will involve members of the Homebase Garden Academy, mentored by award-winning garden designer Adam Frost, which aims to raise the profile of a career in gardening and inspire gardening talent of the future.

Students from the academy will be invited to attend special workshops about the work Greenfingers does, including trips to hospice gardens and talks from Greenfingers garden designers. It is hoped this will offer academy members a valuable insight into the unique considerations of designing gardens at children’s hospices with a view to members being involved in future Greenfingers garden design projects.

Deborah Skillicorn, Greenfingers Charity Director, commented on the new partnership: “We are thrilled to be announcing this new collaboration between Greenfingers and Homebase.

"As a small charity we are really excited about the potential benefits the partnership will bring to the gardens we create for children who spend time in hospices around the UK and are very much looking forward to creating a fruitful, beneficial alliance for everyone involved.”

Amy Whidburn, Head of Corporate Responsibility at Homebase said: “Greenfingers is a fantastic charity that makes a huge difference to families up and down the country. We hope that over the next three years, Homebase can make a real difference by helping with its garden projects and by raising vital funds.”

Further collaborations between Greenfingers and Homebase will be announced throughout the year.
