Wolds View garden centre invites children to design its new flag

Wyevale Garden Centres’ newly-named Wolds View centre at Horncastle (formerly Crowders) is inviting local schoolchildren to design a new flag.

The design should represent ‘Wolds View’ – a name that describes the scenic view of the Wolds from the centre’s well-known plant area.

The competition, open to children up to age 11, will be judged by the town mayor and Ken Dawson, the garden centre manager.

The winning design will grace a flag to fly at the entrance. The winning young designer will win a £500 voucher to be spent on plants or equipment for their school garden.

The runner-up will receive a £250 voucher for their school, and the third prize winner will get potted sunflower seeds for their classroom or school garden.

The centre’s new name was among those suggested by customers and came top in a customer poll.
