Furniture and BBQ sales save June

High value furniture and BBQ sales have saved the day when it comes to garden centre turnovers in June.

While we’ve been out and about completing the judging visits for GTN’s Greatest Outdoor Leisure Sales Team Awards, which will be presented at SOLEX on Tuesday, most centres are reporting increased business to end the half year up on 2016.

At an overall volume sales level, however, the GTN Bestsellers All Product Index shows that June sales were down 3.5% year on year and 2.3% down for the half year.

How do you think sales will perform in the second half of the year? Can we increase sales volumes enough during the autumn and over Christmas to end the year on an up?  Are you opening your Christmas displays earlier this year? Do let us know. E-mail trevor.pfeiffer@tgcmc.co.uk
