Christmas 5% down in October

October sales volumes of products in the GTN Bestsellers Top Christmas chart were down by 5% on October 2020 and down by 15% on October 2019.

Sales grew by nearly 30% during half-term week with all but six lines in the GTN Top 50 increasing sales. While personalised decorative items dominate the Top 10 again it was traditional pick lines, Chritsmas games and sweets that were amongst the biggest movers.

Highlights of the week were:

  • Jeno Holly and Cone Pick in Silver and Green was the highest new entry at No 8.
  • Playwrite’s 7cm Rudolph's Cube re-entered the Top 50 at No 17.
  • The Belfine Santa with Red Hat Lolly 35g climbed 30 places up the chart to No 19.
  • A brand new personalised Christmas line from Stands Out – Wooden Tree Decorations – was a new entry at No 49.
