Bumper year ahead for grow your own tomatoes

Strawberry plants hold off tomato plants at the top of the GTN Bestsellers Veg-2-Gro chart, but tomato plants dominate in terms of total volume, selling 50% of the total Top 50 Veg-2-Gro lines. That’s an eight percentage points increase from the same week in 2019.

Early signs are that this could be a bumper year for home grown tomatoes. Have you got plenty of gro bag planters ready to sell when these young plants are ready to move outside?

Highlights of the week were:

  • Quantil Strawberry Cambridge Strips move up 3 places to No 1.
  • Tomato Sweet Million 9cm from Cheers Nurseries is the highest new-entry at No 3.
  • Quantil Tomato Alicante 8cm climbed furthest up the chart to No 15.
