New Director for Langlands Garden Centres

Langlands Nurseries Ltd has appointed Daniel Lawton as Director. Dan started his new role on August 1 and is bringing over 18 years of industry experience into the business.

He first started working for the company in 2012 before acquiring an extensive range of skills and knowledge in other garden centres.

“My garden centre career began at the age of 15 in Heighley Gate Garden Centre where my role involved loading cars with compost and pushing trolleys. Developing a deeper interest then I went on to study horticulture for three years whilst working in the centre. Over the last 18 years I have gained a huge amount of experience being employed by a number of other businesses within this field," said Dan.

“I feel honoured and privileged to be joining James and Robert Ducker as a director of Langlands and I would like to thank them for this fantastic opportunity. Langlands has had a tough 18 months, but I am proud to say that the team have done an amazing job providing a great service to our customers. We will continue to focus on investing in the team and making improvements within the centres.”

James Ducker, Managing Director of Langlands Nurseries Ltd, added: “It is with great pleasure that I am announcing the appointment of Dan as a Director of Langlands Nurseries Ltd.

"He has been a crucial part in steering the company through the Covid pandemic and with Dan now on board as a Director, I am certain Langlands will continue to thrive.”

Langlands Nurseries Ltd is a well-established family business with remarkable community spirit. The company which trades from three sites Shiptonthorpe, Whinmoor and Loxley is running under the ownership of James Ducker whose grandfather Walter Ducker founded the business in 1955 and demonstrates a consistent track record of strong, continuous growth in revenue.
