New BoronGreen tools from Burgon & Ball

Burgon & Ball is unveiling a major RHS-endorsed tool range that marks a revolution in gardening tools, one which presents a truly unique and compelling proposition: BoronGreen.

The patent-pending BoronGreen range offers the strength and durability of boron steel, together with sound sustainability credentials including 80% recycled steel. It’s believed that this combination marks a first in UK garden tools.

The addition of the element boron to carbon steel creates a new level of performance. This composition of steel has long been used in the automotive and agricultural sectors to deliver stronger structural components and longer-lasting wear parts. And now, in gardening tools, boron steel offers performance above and beyond that of a like-for-like tool in carbon steel.

And advanced performance isn’t BoronGreen’s sole attraction. The range also holds great appeal for today’s environmentally-aware consumer, thanks to Burgon & Ball’s ambitious sustainability targets.

Uniquely, the steel used in the tool heads is 80 per cent recycled, believed to be a first in UK gardening tools. In addition, the handles and shafts are crafted in FSC-certified white ash wood, sourced from sustainably managed forests.

All this is combined with Burgon & Ball’s hallmark considered design. There’s a tough powder coating in olive green to protect the steel, and a visible sharpened edge on spade, trowel, etc. The FSC-certified white ash is selected for its strength and shock-absorbing properties, and the grip is carefully thermo-treated for increased durability and moisture resistance.

The comprehensive BoronGreen range consists of 17 top-selling items across large tools and hand tools. All tools in the range carry a 25-year guarantee. The new tools join Burgon & Ball’s flagship collection of RHS-endorsed tools, the only garden tools to carry endorsement from the Royal Horticultural Society.

With RRPs ranging from just £8.99 up to £32.99, the new BoronGreen range offers accessible pricing, coupled with superior benefits over traditional carbon tools. Add in its advanced environmental credentials, and BoronGreen gives retailers something truly unique to offer their shoppers: a true revolution in gardening tools.
