With just two weeks remaining, this is your final opportunity to book your place at the Horticultural Trades Association’s (HTA) inaugural FutureGrow Expo 2024 on Tuesday, 8 October 2024, at Stoneleigh Park in Kenilworth.
Ahead of the event, James Moffatt, Operations Manager at James Coles & Sons Nurseries Ltd emphasises the critical need to keep up with innovation in the industry: “The uptake of technology within some sectors of the horticultural industry has at times been slow, but with the difficulties of finding quality labour, lack of plant protection products, changes in growing media, we are increasingly turning to technology for help and solutions. The speed at which technology is developing and evolving makes it difficult to keep up with and to understand what might be relevant and beneficial for your business, and that’s why the need for the FutureGrow Expo has never been greater.
"Bringing together manufacturers, researchers, funders, and policymakers under one roof offers a unique opportunity for growers to explore new technologies, share their insights, and better understand how these advancements could impacttheir operations and workforce. I’m optimistic that this event will be the start of something lasting and valuable for the industry.”
FutureGrow Expo promises a unique chance to see groundbreaking technology demonstrations aimed at transforming productivity and sustainability in horticulture. Attendees will have access to an impressive line up of exhibitors showing the latest innovations poised to reshape the industry and the chance to hear from expert speakers.
There will be presentations from Emilio Loo Monardez, Principal Engineer and Lead of AgriTech Developments at Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), titled "Dreams to Market Realities: Shaping the Future of Growing Today." David Bole and Jack Clough, from the Forestry Commission will discuss Supporting Innovation in Tree Production, and Dr James Wagstaffe, Director of Teaching and Learning, Lincoln Institute for Agri-Food and Technology (LIAT) will talk about Future skill sets required by employees.
With an array of innovative technologies on display and industry leaders sharing their expertise, Futuregrow Expo is set to inspire and drive the future of sustainable growing, for businesses looking to stay ahead in the competitive world of horticulture.
