Average start to June, according to GTN Bestsellers

While sales for the first two weeks of June have been significantly down on 2021 levels, they were 5.5% higher than the first two weeks of June 2019 and 0.3% higher than the average start to June between 2011 and 2019.

Whilst we hear sales are slow this year, that is true compared to 2021 and 2020 but actually on par with a normal June, which given the indifferent weather and the Jubilee at the start of the month isn’t such a bad picture to paint.

Now we prepare to head off for a summer of trade shows, starting with the National Plant Show, followed by Glee and then Solex.

With garden centres having high stock levels, after all the pre-season ordering last Autumn, this year’s trade shows will be the key place to see what is really new for 2023, New products always drive sales, particularly with new customers in mind and there looks to be a lot of ‘New’ being prepared for the shows. There’s also the possibility of picking up some bargain deals as suppliers also try to clear warehouse space for next season.

We look forward to seeing you at the shows. Do come and find us around the Glee New Product Showcase and on The Stage at Glee when products are being pitched to the judges. See you there.
