Summerseat Gardeners Question Time is a winner for local hospice

Summerseat Garden Centre in Bury raised over £1000 for their local hospice with a Gardeners Question Time event last Tuesday.

Owner John Ainscow, pictured above with the Lady Mayor, told GTN Xtra: "We were pleased with our efforts and most importantly everyone enjoyed themselves. It was an excellent evening and we raised well over £1,000 for Bury Hospice."

The event included a mini plant “Expo” with 3 plant suppliers, 3 plant societies and 3 trade suppliers represented including Westland and Neudorff, a buffet followed by Gardeners Question Time.

The panellists were:

  • Tony Bracegirdle: Local rose breeder and 17 times National Rose Champion
  • Allen Standring: Ex Summerseat G.C. YTS employee, Pershore and now with Pickmere Perennials
  • Graham Vallis: Plant Manager, Bradley Fold Garden Centre
  • Adrian Jones: Plant Manager, Summerseat Garden Centre
