Heuchera L. Frilly enters Plant of the Year at Chelsea

After being rewarded with Brons at the KVBC Spring Challenge in 2021, gold medal-winning nursery Plantagogo has entered Heuchera L. Frilly (‘Alchefril’ PBR) to the prestigious Plant of the Year competition at Chelsea 2022.

After its official introduction in 2021, Frilly, discovered by Neil Alcock as a sport from Tangerine Wave: one of Vicky Fox varieties, continues to gain popularity.

With its unique ruffled foliage and attractive caramel colour, Frilly stands out amongst other cultivars. Combined with a sturdy and dense habit and excellent garden performance, it is expected to be received well at Chelsea.

“Frilly is a stand-alone variety,” said Peter van Rijssen at Plantipp, who represents and introduced Frilly last year. “You either love it or hate it, but there’s no doubt that it’s completely different and unique.”

Heuchera L. Frilly can be seen at stand GPB123 in the Grand Pavilion at Chelsea 2022.
