Sales of plants in July down by 9%

July plant sales were down 9% on last year but 12% up on 2017 according to GTN Bestsellers Epos data analysis.  That means on a year to date basis total plant sales this year are now 6.3% down on last year and 2.7% up on 2017.

Within all plant sales we know that veg 2 gro plants have seen huge increases on last year. That means it is flowering garden plants that are down.  Does anyone have a theory as to why that should be?  E-mail trevor.pfeiffer@tgcmc.co.uk

  • Zonal Geraniums remain the most popular plant of the summer.
  • Sedum were the highest chart climber, up 14 places to No 33.
