Daffodil Day to kick off Taylors Bulbs centenary

As part of their centenary celebrations, Taylors Bulbs will be holding a Daffodil Day in conjunction with the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) on 10 April 2019 at their site in Holbeach, Lincolnshire.

Visitors will be able to listen to informative talks about daffodils and other bulbs from world renowned experts, visit the bulb fields where more than 400 varieties of daffodils are grown, visit the Taylors trial ground and see the machinery involved in producing top quality flower bulbs.

Bookings can be made via the website where there is a small charge of £5 per person for the day, which includes a light lunch and refreshments.

Taylors Bulbs are the UK’s leading supplier of flower bulbs. They supply pre-packed and loose bulbs to garden centres, nurseries and landscapers throughout the UK.

Adam Taylor, fourth generation of the Taylor family said: ‘’We have a busy and exciting year ahead of us with various centenary celebrations planned which will include special promotions for garden retailers later in the year. However, our first event is the Daffodil Day as we particularly wanted to celebrate with gardeners and enthusiasts when our bulb fields will be in full bloom. We are also delighted that the RHS are collaborating with us for the Daffodil Day.’’

Taylors Bulbs have been running since 1919. Over their impressive 100-year history they have grown from 4 hectares of land to more than 750 hectares of which more than 150 ha are daffodils. Still a thriving family business, they employ over 200 staff at peak times.
