Search is on for Britain's best lawn

Briggs & Stratton and Hayter are calling for entries for the 2016 ‘Britain’s Best Lawn’ competition.

They are looking for passionate and dedicated gardeners who maintain their lawn to the highest standard.

Ian Small, sales and marketing manager for Briggs & Stratton, said: “Britain’s Best Lawn is open to everyone, no matter how big or small their lawn. It’s not about the size, it’s about the quality and the dedication that goes into maintaining it.

“Lawns are increasingly under threat, yet they have endless benefits not just for the environment but also for physical health and mental well-being. That is why we want to do all we can preserve and celebrate lawns - Britain’s Best Lawn has been our way of doing that for the past eleven years.”

Past winners have spent up to 10 hours per day maintaining their lawn in peak season, with one even manicuring the edges with nail scissors!

T the winner receive a prize bundle worth more than £1000 to help maintain their award winning lawn – a Platinum Limited Edition Harrier 41 Autodrive lawnmower, a selection of Wilkinson Sword lawncare tools and a £150 voucher to spend in their local garden centre. Two runners-up will each receive a Toro leaf blower and a £100 garden centre voucher.

More information can be found here: www.britainsbestlawn.co.uk.

Closing date is 31 July 2016.
