Growing Media sales set another May record

Another record mid May week for Growing Media sales sees the GTN Bestellers year on year volume gap slim down to 6.8% on last year and sit at 4.2% up on the same point in 2016.  Thankfully gardeners are still improving soils, planting in pots and generally getting growing again now that the weather has improved.

  • Westland Cambark Chunky Chip Bark, 60 litres is the only new entry of the week, in at No 40 after more than doubling sales.
  • Peat Free composts move up the chart as less keen gardeners buy growing media:  Westland New Horizon Multi-Purpose Compost, 50 litres moves up to No 20 and Scotts Miracle-Gro Eco Sense Peat Free Compost, 56 litres is a re-entry at No 33.
  • Westland Multipurpose + John Innes, 40 litres, is the highest climber, up 21 places to No 26.
