Aylett Nurseries eyes investment after buying land next door

Aylett Nurseries at St Albans is considering expansion options after buying 2.5 acres of land next door to the garden centre.

The company had apparently been trying for many years to purchase the land but has had to make do until now with a lease while they used it for overflow car parking and dahlia demonstrations – facilities they are now thought to be prepared to invest in.

“We had seven acres for 60 years but now we have got another 2.5,” MD Adam Wigglesworth is reported as saying.

GTN Xtra attempted to contact Mr Wigglesworth for further clarification but without success before the deadline.
