Nursery calls for more centres to sell veg & food

Boyd Batchelor from Tillage Nurseries contacted GTN Xtra this morning urging more centres to open a veg + food stall as soon as possible so they could remain open throughout any potential lock down.

"Get down to your local fruit and veg market supplier, in all major UK citys to buy some pallets of stock asap." he said.   "We've created a Combat COVID-19 flyer that we are sending out to centres with plant orders."

Tillage have £450k worth of plants to sell between now and the end of May. They, along with all other growers will be relying on enough garden centres staying open to allow for plants to sell through.
