National Tree Weeek returns later this month

National Tree Week, which is the UK’s largest tree celebration, returns on November 24-December 2.

It is an amazing opportunity for communities to come together and aim to plant over a million trees.

BASF, the UK’s only beneficial nematode growers, are large supporters of the national week. Their Nemasys Fruit and Vegetable Protection will ensure that pests are kept away from fruit trees.

Nematodes, such as Nemaslug and the Nemasys range, are naturally occurring microscopic animal organisms that act as biological pest control. Once applied to trees, these nematodes can hunt out the harmful pests and attack it before it gets to your fruit.

Nematodes attack the pest by entering natural body openings, releasing a bacteria which quickly and safely kills it. The nematodes then reproduce inside the dead pest and release a new generation of hungry nematodes, which disperse and search for further prey.

The Nemasys range is as easy to use as watering the garden and there is no need to keep children or pets away from treated areas as the products are entirely biological and causes no harm to non-target species or wildlife.

BASF, producers of Nemasys and Nemaslug products have made them easily accessible online and user friendly; perfect for the domestic gardener who demands an effortless product that is non-toxic and extremely effective. Their online website makes gardeners lives easier as an entire season’s worth of pest control can be purchased via their website and delivered straight to their front door.

You can follow Nemasys on Twitter @BASF_Nemasys_UK and find them on Facebook by searching for @BASF.Nemasys.UK
