Rhubarb outsells lettuce seeds – that’s official!

The social media viral comments about ‘sell outs’ of lettuce and other seeds as a result of the current shortages in supermarkets appear to be limited to a few hotspots in the UK.

Epos data for GTN Bestsellers indicates nothing out of the ordinary for lettuce or other veg seeds last week.

The biggest mover of the week was Rhubarb. Perhaps that should have made viral gossip instead.

The main highlights this week were:
  • Nursery Fresh Plants Rhubarb the highest new entry at No 6.
  • Taylors Onion Sets Stuttgarter moved up to the top spot.
  • Thompson & Morgan Tomato Gardeners Delight was the highest re-entry at No 18.
  • Thompson & Morgan Beetroot Boltardy was the highest climber, jumping 20 places to No 20.
