Highest weekly turnover in ten years at Royal Flora Holland

The total weekly turnover for Royal FloraHolland in week 8 (22-26 February 2021) reached almost 153 million euros. This broke the record for turnover that stood at 142 millions euros from week 18 of 2018.

This concerns the turnover for both clock and direct sales. The average price level was very high. Never before in the past ten years has such a high average price level been achieved in this period, not even in the months of March and April.

The turnover growth compared to last year was more than thirty percent, of which around 22 percent can be attributed to higher average prices. Tulip, Rose and Chrysanthemum made up the top three cut flowers. Turnover growth for the Tulip was almost 32 percent. As a share of total supplied units the Tulip stood at 40 percent. Violet, potted bulb and pot Phalaenopsis achieved a significant increase in plant turnover.

In the run-up to International Women's Day on March 8, 2021 and English Mother's Day on March 14, 2021, there is a lot of demand and therefore good prices. The beautiful weather of the past week has certainly contributed. From international retail (supermarkets) a lot has also been bought on the clock.

Clock pre sales also saw a weekly record. In terms of sales figures, this ranked within the top five for the period up to and including week 8. The numbers were higher than last year for cut flowers, house plants and garden plants.
