Gro-along Evergreen Garden Care launches virtual gardening series with David Domoney

Leading garden care brand Evergreen Garden Care (www.loveyourgarden.com), has teamed up with Charted Horticulturalist and TV Gardener, David Domoney, to create the ‘Grow with David Domoney’ series.  Aired on Facebook Live via Evergreen Garden Care’s ‘Love The Garden’ page, each event will be streamed from 1pm, weekly from Friday 15th May 2020. Each episode will include gardening tips and advice, a Q&A sessions and merchandise giveaways.

With more people taking an interest in gardening, ‘Grow with David Domoney’ will be launched with the intention of inspiring first time and experienced gardeners alike to do more with their outdoor space. The live streams will be suitable for indoor and outdoor spaces, encouraging more people to try their hand at gardening. David Domoney will share garden care advice and educate viewers to use the best products for each job, encouraging them to invest in gardening properly.

The warm spring weather combined with lockdown causing the majority of the population to stay at home, led to a huge uplift in online searches in March around growing fruit and vegetables at home. Searches for how to grow potatoes increased by 161% from February and growing your own tomatoes increased by 134%. The first episode, streaming on Friday 15th May 2020 at 1pm, will focus on growing your own during lockdown, including ways to be thrifty, recycle items from around the house and growing from seed.

The series, which will be boosted through Facebook advertising, is designed to motivate and support gardeners to follow along, ask questions and ultimately have successful growing experiences, helping to unlock the love of the garden for all to enjoy. Weekly content will promote a variety of inspiring horticultural activities such as how to grow your best plants, encouraging insects, taking care of your lawn, making compost, pruning and more.

David said, "I am looking forward to broadcasting live from my garden with Evergreen sharing my seasonal gardening advice, hints and tips to inspire the nation to enjoy more of their outdoor space. I hope many are encouraged to take up the advantages of gardening for life, including wildlife, eating healthy, flowers, borders and perfect family lawns."

Mark Portman, Managing Director at Evergreen Garden Care, said “Launching these live streams with our brand ambassador, David Domoney, is a great opportunity to demonstrate how we as a business are evolving with the times to deliver the digital-first content that many new gardeners desire. Both David and Evergreen have similar goals in driving participation in gardening by making it accessible for everyone, no matter the size or lack of a garden!”

Evergreen Garden Care is the owner of leading garden care brands such as Miracle-Gro, Levington, Roundup and Tomorite among others, and will be promoting the schedule of events on the brand’s own social media accounts in advance.
