YPHA member to open plant boutique in Ross-on-Wye

An experienced garden designer and horticulturalist will be bringing a splash of springtime colour to Ross-on-Wye this April by branching out and re-opening an empty shop on Ross on Wye’s High Street.

Former AV & Trials Coordinator for Allensmore Nurseries and member of the YPHA, Stacey Gibson, has acquired the lease of 6 High Street and will be opening her gardening shop, Dor’s Garden, on the 15th April.

"I’ve always had a passion for plants and gardening," says Stacey, "so opening a gardening shop, named after my Nan, fulfils a life-long ambition.

"I’m so excited to opening my new shop in Ross to offer the town’s people some gorgeous plants and gardening goods, and to share my passion and my belief in all the benefits that gardening can bring to a person."

Stacey’s vision has been supported by Herefordshire Council in the form of a Revive to Thrive grant to help towards the costs of establishing the shop, and by Marches Growth Hub Herefordshire which has provided training in business skills and access to a business mentor.

‘I’m very grateful for all the support I’ve received" comments Stacey, "it’s great to know that these schemes exist to help people like me start new business ventures."

Stacey, born and raised locally, has worked as a horticulturalist and a garden designer for 12 years, after studying Professional Garden Design  at Cotswold Gardening School. She is an RHS Silver Medal Award winner.

6 High Street Ross was formerly a solicitors office, but has been vacant for a number of years.

Dor’s Garden will open it’s doors on 15th April.
