Sales head for a record November

Three weeks into November and the volume sales data for GTN Bestsellers indictates we are heading for a record month. So far November total volume sales are running 13% ahead of last year with Christmas, Garden Products and Growing Media sectors all performing well.

Houseplant sales grow for third month running
 

The UK’s current love for indoor plants shows no sign of diminishing according to the Garden Centre Association as new research claims most flatsharers own at least one houseplant each. In the GCA’s Barometer of Trade for October (2019) houseplants were recorded among the bestsellers by member garden centres for the third consecutive month, with sales up 13.47% on last year.

Horticultural ‘Oscars’ highlight gardening as force for good

Eliminating plastics from our gardens, the social prescribing of gardening and the leafy love affair of millennials and their houseplants, were just some of the varied subjects being championed by gardening’s greatest influencers, at this year’s horticultural ‘Oscars’, the Garden Media Guild Awards.
