Six years and counting for Wyevale Nurseries' Italian job

Cash and carry outlet Greenline Plants, a joint venture between Wyevale Nurseries and Innocenti & Mangoni Piante, celebrates its sixth anniversary this month.

Wyevale Nurseries teamed up with the Italian nursery so it could offer a wider choice of plants. The venture, managed by experienced horticulturist Alan Standring (left) from the outset, provides a ‘one-stop shop’ at Earlswood in the West Midlands.

Adam Dunnett, sales and marketing director at Wyevale Nurseries, said: “The idea for the company came about as we wanted to make selecting and buying plants as easy as possible for professional horticulturalists. Working with another nursery has enabled us to increase our plant offering while still providing our customers with a one-stop-shop.”

Customers can use the ‘select and collect’ service to order by email, fax or phone. A ‘tag and reserve’ service enables them to reserve plants for later pick-up or delivery. Greenline will also try to source non-regular stock customers may require

The range of plants includes bamboos, herbaceous perennials, palms, roses, shrubs, topiary plus more more exotic and unusual  varieties.

The Earlswood centre also has a restaurant, a pot recycling facility and a private meeting room for customer’s use.
