It has been another fantastic year for peat-free growing media company Southern Trident, and one that has seen both of its product ranges see some fantastic new award-winning additions announced for 2023. As our industry moves towards a peat-free future, Southern Trident are leading the way with innovations sure to excite consumers, including a new award-winning addition!
Harmony Gardens, the world’s first carbon net-zero growing media brand, has proven itself as an exceptional addition to Southern Trident’s line-up of trial-proven high performing peat-free composts, winning the Glee 2021 Award for Best New Growing Media and Sustainability Award with its launch range of Multipurpose Compost, Top Soil, Soil Improver, and Grow Bag. The latest additions coming for 2023 include more 100% natural, peat-free and carbon-neutral products: a Fruit & Vegetable Compost, Farmyard Manure, Chipped Bark, and an Ericaceous Compost – our latest award-winning compost.
Southern Trident CEO Steve Harper is delighted that the new Harmony Gardens peat-free Ericaceous Compost was recently awarded Best Retail Product at Four Oaks 2022 in September, saying: “Achieving the right acidity levels for an ericaceous compost while maintaining our status as an entirely peat-free growing media producer was a challenge – and one that we are happy to have achieved. Our Harmony Gardens Ericaceous compost contains no virgin wood or harmful chemicals, is peat-free, and is entirely carbon neutral.
“To have won the Four Oaks Best Retail Product Award for our Ericaceous Compost is a fantastic achievement, and we welcome anyone uncertain about going peat-free with ericaceous to try our award-winning formula to see results that speak for themselves!”
The Coco&Coir range, too, has some fantastic new additions on the horizon for 2023. Alongside the existing range of easy-to-store and shelve compressed coir bricks, 2023 will see a Cactus, Houseplant, Citrus, and Orchid selection of coir-based composts come to the market alongside a Microgreens Kit and a barbecue charcoal made from coconut shells, Coco Burn. This Autumn, too, the Coco&Coir range of natural coir doormats for indoor and outdoor use has welcomed a variety of brand-new designs that are perfect for the holiday season and beyond.
