Join the recycled rubber revolution

Primeur is leading the charge for sustainable material usage, with recycled rubber its ‘weapon’ of choice. The company’s multi-award-winning Eco Garden range – made up of self-watering Tierra Verde planters, stepping-stones, garden borders and decking tiles – has been saving tonnes of rubber tyres from reaching landfill where they’d take upwards of 80 years to decompose. Here, the Primeur team tells us more about the latest additions to join the benchmark-setting Eco Garden range, and also reveals details of an exciting new product introduction that will switch up the deck game next season.

Pots & planters now available in new sizes & designs

Whether it’s a first-time grow-your-own project, the need for flexible planting options or simply as a way to add splashes of colour throughout the garden, the popularity of container gardening shows no signs of abating.

Looking ahead to 2021 Primeur has added a selection of new planters to its Eco Garden range, all made from 100% recycled rubber, meaning they are lightweight, weather-proof and durable so will not fade, rot, stain or crack no matter what the weather throws at them – something very few ceramic or concrete planters can boast.

New designs include the Octavia Planter in a 15cm size. Ideal for houseplants and smaller blooms, these planters are a great entry level product or add-on sales opportunity when positioned near houseplants, petite blooms and herb displays.

The bestselling Sonata range will also see the introduction of two new trough planters in response to both retailer and consumer demand. The larger design (71cm w x 50cm h) will be a commanding planter and is perfect for kickstarting grow-your-own projects and even small-scale vegetable gardens, whilst the smaller trough (61cm w x 15cm h), will provide the ideal solution for window boxes and herb gardens.

The people’s favourite: grey

It’s not just new sizes and designs that are being introduced for 2021. New colourways in on-trend grey will also be boosting the Eco Garden collection during the coming season.

The bestselling Railroad Tile (25x60cm), which provides a rustic touch to paths, will now be available in a grey colourway, whilst the popular Ultra Curve EZ Border will also benefit from updates in this on trend hue.

The all-new Carolina Border collection will also see the introduction of a further grey colour option.  This new border style is the perfect example of understated elegance, with a curved top and sleek geometric lines, and will be supported by a retail price of just £16.99.

NOW FOR SOMETHING NEW – MULTYDECK™

The latest innovation from Primeur – MultyDeck™ – extends not only the company’s recycled rubber collection, but it enables garden retailers to expand their offering to consumers with a fool proof way to create new decking areas.

Each MultyDeck™ rubber base features three footbeds for decking planks, meaning decks can be laid within a matter of minutes, with dividers and side supports helping to maintain a secure base for each plank. Lay the planks, secure from underneath and then create your decking shape in situ. Joiner boards fill the gaps between each MultyDeck™ unit for a seamless look.

The joy of MultyDeck™ is the fact it enjoys so many different applications thanks to its ability to be built quickly and relocated just as rapidly.  Ideal for generation rent, around the garden from new seating areas to paths, greenhouses floors and allotments, as well as residential and recreational uses, and even for caravan and motorhome owners who want to avoid a muddy doorstep. MultyDeck™ is a cheaper, more flexible option when compared to traditional decking, supported by a strong sustainable message as each MultyDeck™ base helps to channel rubber tyres away from landfill.
