Johnsons Lawn Seeds: Practical lawns with the beauty of nature

Johnsons Nature’s Lawn with Mowable Native Wildflowers is an innovative seed mix that allows gardeners to rewild their lawns while maintaining usability. This unique blend supports biodiversity, providing a practical lawn combined with the beauty of a native wildflower meadow.

With initiatives like No Mow May and 30 Days Wild gaining popularity, Nature’s Lawn aligns perfectly with the movement to restore flower-rich meadows—97% of which have disappeared since the 1930s. This mix lets homeowners enjoy wildflowers without sacrificing a functional lawn.

By combining traditional grasses with low-growing wildflowers, such as Birdsfoot Trefoil, Black Medick, and Lady’s Bedstraw, Nature’sLawn attracts pollinators like bees and butterflies. The mix is designed for easy maintenance, allowing homeowners to adjust mowing height between 50mm and 150mm. Less frequent mowing encourages wildflowers to thrive, increasing biodiversity over time.

Wildflowers in the mix will self-seed, enhancing natural beauty and supporting pollinators year after year. Meanwhile, slow-growing grasses like Strong Creeping Red Fescue and Chewings Fescue ensure durability, making the lawn resilient to regular use.

Guy Jenkins, Consumer Manager at Johnsons Lawn Seed, said: “Launched at Glee last year to great acclaim, Nature’s Lawn meets thedemand for sustainable gardening. Retailers can expand their offerings while helping customers create beautiful, eco-friendly lawns.”
