This edition of the GIMA Buyers Guide & New Product Digest not only showcases the very best in garden retail innovation for 2026, but also captures the remarkable spirit that defines our community...

As another season comes to an end and we look ahead to a new year of opportunity, I find myself reflecting on how far our industry has come and how proud I am to be part of it. This edition of the GIMA Buyers Guide & New Product Digest not only showcases the very best in garden retail innovation for 2026, but also captures the remarkable spirit that defines our community.

 

Over the past few years, we’ve all had to adapt to a world that feels anything but predictable. Whether it’s shifting consumer behaviours, supply chain challenges, or the ongoing effects of climate change, “business as usual” has become a thing of the past.

 

Yet, time and again, our industry has risen to the challenge, resilient, creative, and full of optimism. Garden retail doesn’t just survive change; it thrives on it.

 

This year’s Guide is a testament to that resilience. Within these pages you’ll find inspiring new products, trusted favourites, and fresh ideas that reflect a sector full of innovation and energy. For me personally, this edition is a special one. As I’m now in my final year as GIMA President, I feel immense gratitude for the people who make this industry so vibrant; our members, our partners, and the dedicated teams behind every product, display, and idea featured here. It’s your passion and collaboration that drive GIMA forward and keep our industry at the forefront of retail innovation.

 

I’m also continually inspired by the positive impact gardening has on wellbeing. It connects us to nature, to our communities, and to ourselves. In a world that often feels uncertain, gardening offers something deeply grounding and restorative. That connection is at the GIMA Innovators Seed Corn Award, we’re nurturing the next generation of talent and ideas that will carry us confidently into the future.

 

So, as you turn these pages, I hope you feel as inspired as I do. This Guide is more than a showcase, it’s a celebration of progress, creativity, and community.

Museums & Galleries Ltd has had a busy summer and autumn 2025, with the release of multiple new gift products and card ranges.

 

The most significant release is a collection of 20 beautiful fine bone china mugs, featuring artwork from the UK’s premier museums like the V&A, Tate Gallery, and British Museum, classic artists like Vincent Van Gogh, international designers Matthew Williamson and Mary Katrantzou, leading British wildlife artist Angela Harding, and M&G star artists Helen Ahpornsiri and Catherine Rowe. The V&A’s Frog mug – a detail from a William De Morgan tile – is shaping up to be an early favourite but all the mugs would make gorgeous gifts this season.

 

Another new release (and new product for M&G) are glasses cases. With solid clam-shell construction and fabric coated, the cases come with matching lens cloths. M&G’s clever repeat pattern based on Hokusai’s Great Wave from the British Museum features in this range, as does Matthew Williamson’s ‘Paisley Blue’, and Angela Harding’s ‘Cornish Path’ – M&G’s other great licenses make up the full selection in this exciting new gift product range.

 

 

M&G has also released a summer/autumn 2025 collection of kitchen textiles featuring work from Matthew Williamson, London designer Emily Burningham, and Bramley Hedge. Pictured is Matthew Williamson’s bold and beautiful ‘Peacock Ikat’, which now comes as an organic cotton adjustable apron, oven gloves, tea towel set and cotton napkin set.

The night was a true celebration of creativity, innovation, and dedication, as the industry’s leading suppliers and manufacturers were recognised for their outstanding achievements over the past year...


 

The garden industry came together in style for the sold-out 2025 GIMA Awards, held at the magnificent Celtic Manor Resort in Newport. The night was a true celebration of creativity, innovation, and dedication, as the industry’s leading suppliers and manufacturers were recognised for their outstanding achievements over the past year.

 

Across 18 categories, winners were chosen for their exceptional products, initiatives, and contributions to the ever-evolving world of garden retail. This year’s judging panel brought together voices from across the sector, combining national and independent retail experience with media insight and expert perspective.  Sarah White of Hillier Garden Centre, Bradley Piziura from B&Q, Anthony Gould from Goulds and Choice Marketing, and Casey Warwick from Decco offered valuable viewpoints from both independent and national operations. Representing leading independents, Katrine Taylor of Fron Goch Garden Centre and Helen Lloyd from Stratford & Warwick Garden Centres brought further depth to the panel, alongside Jo Iddon of QVC and Adam Szabo of Charlies Stores.Completing the well-rounded group of judges, Trevor Pfeiffer, editor of Garden Trade News, and Kim Stoddart, editor of Amateur Gardening, added an editorial eye for excellence.

 

Helping to kick off the evening’s celebrations in style was Patrick Kielty, whose warmth, humour, and sharp wit set the perfect tone for a night of celebration. His quick-fire energy and easy rapport with the audience made for a lively and memorable start to proceedings.

 

Reflecting on the evening, GIMA Director Vicky Nuttall said: “Tonight has been a fantastic celebration of everything that makes our industry so special. The room has been buzzing with excitement, and our winners truly reflect the creativity, commitment, and forward thinking that continue to drive garden retail forward.

The GCA Supplier of the Year Award underwent a major change for 2025, splitting the category to recognise excellence across businesses of different sizes – one for large businesses and another for small to medium suppliers.  Finalists in the Large Business category were Smart Garden Products and Westland, while To Make a Difference Ltd (M.A.D) was recognised in the Small to Medium Business category.

 

This year, Woodlodge Products claimed the title of ‘Large Business’ Supplier of the Year. Praising Woodlodge, the judges highlighted the company’s long-standing commitment to excellence, commenting: “Consistently excellent service over 20 years. From sales and merchandising to the accounts team, we have nothing but praise for this company.”

The judges said: “We were extremely impressed with Smart Garden Products’ willingness to surge forward with a change in strategy for Europe, which sees them making significant investment into that market. This has delivered immediate results, with substantial forecast revenue increases for 2026 and beyond.”
