The Look on The Brightside Launch Event is a ground-breaking multi-channel programme of digital events, interactive digital content and socially distant appointment-based physical events. WIDDOP will launch 700 brand-new products across 14 key ranges.

 

“Given the current climate, we knew we had to bring new products, to match the rapidly changing tastes in the marketplace but we knew we would probably need an alternative to large tradeshows, which we would usually use as the main showcase for our new launches. We wanted to ensure the safety of our customers and staff, while ensuring that we could give retailers the new products that they need to capitalise on in the important autumn period following the return to bricks & mortar retail post lockdown. So we developed the multi-channel Look on The Brightside campaign.” Says Product Development & Marketing Director Stephen Illingworth.

 

The 5-channel programme consists of:

WIDDOP are launching over 700 new products for the AW20 season, to cover new product trends which have emerged and are emerging from the COVID-19 lock down period.

 

“People have had time in isolation, and it’s made most reflect on what and who really matters to them. Our new products reflect this. Affordable gifts with heartfelt sentiments, gifts aimed at real-life heroes and key workers, self-care items and of course hygiene & PPE products such as designed face masks and sanitisers.”

Autumn Fair may be cancelled but it’s full steam ahead with WIDDOP’s amazing interactive digital showrooms, webinars and interactive e-catalogues...


“Even before Autumn Fair was officially cancelled, we had decided to run a multi-channel launch campaign. We weren’t comfortable with the idea of attending a large show given the current climate. But this new approach opened some great windows of opportunity to innovate.” Says WIDDOP and Co. Sales Director Andrew Illingworth.

 

“We knew there would be trepidation amongst customers and buyers, but we also knew that there would still be desire for newness, as well as some key new product and thematic trends. And the only way for retail to thrive and prosper is to continue to dynamically dictate and promote these trends. And we knew we needed to make sure we could show new products to the trade. Hence our exciting calendar of virtual and physical content & events.”

 

The AW20 Look on The Brightside launch webinar will take place on August 27th, for the full rundown on everything new to the WIDDOP portfolio.

 

WIDDOP are offering a 360-degree virtual showroom covering their entire 15,000sqft showrooms. Browse and buy as you tour.

 

Given social distancing requirements in store, WIDDOP are also facilitating Zoom based consultations with territory agents & reps. These will also be available in evenings to prevent the need for time away from customers – The Evening Sessions.

 

E-catalogues will also contain interactive shopping facilities as well as video content, available for retailers to use on their own websites OR as part of dynamic in-store merchandising.

 

“We’re also running an awards programme on social media, to give retailers the chance to nominate their retail heroes of the year. We’ll give away amazing prizes and celebrate the good news stories and industry legends that this crisis has inspired,” says Andrew.

On The Road – The WIDDOP Roadshow

Between 28th September and October 6th WIDDOP are taking their new products on the road in a state-of-the-art mobile showroom...


 

The mobile showroom will stop at 14 destinations across the south-west and south-east, offering customers who wish to stay local to their centre with the chance to meet 1:1 for a bespoke tour of the WIDDOP offering.

 

Guests will be treated to complementary gourmet food & refreshments, as well as multi-award-winning bespoke customer service.

 

Spaces are limited to make sure you reserve your appointment early to avoid disappointment.
