Not content with developing new technologies and exciting approaches to selling DIY Pest Control products, the team at STV have also been working diligently in the background on a major shift in the way they package their products. It’s no easy task, with marketing pressure to make sure packaged items are secure, but visible and well branded!

There’s been a drive to reduce and, wherever possible, eliminate plastic from packaging entirely. With some clever cardboard engineering, packs have been designed to retain an open ‘window’ to allow the product to be clearly seen at the point of sale, but without the associated plastic that has traditionally been used to hold the product securely.

There are also innovative developments in pouch packs for granules and powders which are now sourced entirely from FSC and can be recycled or fully composted. They include perforations to enable them to be used directly as a shaker pack, or they’re ideal for refilling more traditional dispenser packs which can now be used again and again instead of being discarded when empty.

We have not made a big song and dance about it; we’ve just quietly shifted the direction to make sure we are always thinking of ways to reduce and eliminate packaging wherever possible.”
