The Cake and Bake Show took place 4th- 6th April in Manchester with contestants from last years Great British Bake Off holding masterclasses as well as Rosemary Schrager, Eric Lanlard and GBBO 2012 winner John Waite.

Hundreds of exhibitors took part in the show including artisan bakers, cheese producers, cake makers, pudding producers. As well as pies, fudge, marshmallows, sausage rolls and equipment specialists.

GTN Food Xtra's personal favourite was Joe & Seph's - Gourmet Popcorn Chef & Connoisseur. A range of 35 flavours including Goat's Cheese & Black Pepepr, Gingerbread, Gin & Tonic and Salted Caramel. Product comes in resealable pouches (if they last that long!)

Another feature of the show was The Jungle, a display of amazing cakes created by cake artist collective 'CakeBomb'.  See the gallery below.

This got us thinking that a Cake and Bake Show would make a great garden centre food event.
