Sun, snow, rain, wind, tears and laughter were all experienced as staff from the Klondyke group took on…. and smashed…..their 3 Peaks Challenge, raising £12,000 in the process.
The challenge involved hiking up (and down) Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, the three highest peaks in the UK, and had been organised to raise funds and awareness of three charities close to the hearts of the team members – Cancer Research UK, Greenfingers and the Multiple System Atrophy Trust.
On 3 April the team took on Snowdon, which stands at 1085m; Scafell Pike, (978m) was climbed on 16 May and finally on the 13h June, the team made their way up Ben Nevis ( in 1345m - pictured on cover page).
“The Three Peaks Challenge is a great test of determination and I’m proud to be part of the team that completed it,” said chief executive David Yardley.
“I would like to thank all those who took part, giving up their valuable time to help raise so much for charities close to everyone’s hearts. Thanks again for everyone’s time, good humour and the effort put in to raising this fantastic sum of money for charity.”
