Rain, rain go away, we’ve got plants and pots to sell
The start of June 2019 has been completely the opposite of 2018, wet and windy this year, glorious sunshine last year. And sales have been affected just as when we have snowfall in March. It just goes to show that whatever else is affecting garden centre business the weather is still our over-riding deciding factor.
Thank goodness a break in the weather is forecast for this weekend. Perhaps we may have a flaming end to June and make the most of gardening and leisure sales before we move into holiday time.
Did you make a note that the Early May Bank Holiday is moving next year? To allow for 75th Anniversary of VE Day celebrations it is moving from Monday to Friday 8th May. The last time this happened was in 1995. Did garden centres join in the celebrations then? What will you plan with your local community for 2020?
