Neil and Nicci Gow to close Fresh @ Burcot Garden Centre

It was announced yesterday (Monday 6th July) that Fresh @ Burcot Garden Centre at Bromsgrove is closing to customers later this month.

Redevelopment of the site has been on the cards now for 4 years while planning permission for a housing development has been negotiated between local planning officers and a developer.

Garden centre owners Nicci and Neil Gow said: “Planning permission to build houses on the site at Burcot was finally granted a few weeks ago, and we feel the time is right to move on. We have very much enjoyed building up the garden centre over the last 12 years, to the thriving business it now is, but feel the time is now right for us to move on.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff for their loyalty and hard work over the years. We would also like to say thank you to all our customers and suppliers who have supported us.

"We have both worked in the trade all our lives and have many friends involved in the industry, so are sure we will still be keeping in touch with everything and everyone .  The industry is changing rapidly at the moment and the next few months are going to be challenging.

"We wish all our colleagues; retailers, suppliers or growers, well for the future and good luck to you all.”

Fresh @ Burcot Garden Centre was bought by Neil and Nicci Gow from Hurran’s Garden Centres in January 2008. Using their considerable expertise from many years working in garden retailing and Nicci’s background in growing, they built the garden centre into one of The Midland’s most popular traditional garden centres and the ‘go-to’ place for gardening grow-how!

A sale to clear stock will commence on 7th July.

There will also be fixtures and fittings for sale which could be of use to local retailers. Further information can be obtained from Neil or Nicci Gow on 01527 873470
