Gouldings Garden Centre has announced the purchase of Rosebank Nurseries Ltd in the village of Rosebank, Clyde Valley.
The Goulding family started farming in the Clyde Valley back in 1897, this diversified into vegetable growing in the 70s, then onto wholesale bedding plant production in the 80s (this was all grown in polytunnels). 1990 saw the first glass house being erected and the started retail in 1993.
At this present time the family operate Gouldings Garden Centre and Nursery. The nursery supplies all home-grown perennials and bedding plants. The restaurant in Gouldings seats 140 covers. They are very fortunate to have repeat clientele, which keeps it queued out most days.
In 2017 the family purchased Flowers of Scotland Garden Centre in Rosebank. After refurbishment they now run this as Valley view. In 2017 it opened with a 90 seater restaurant and 60 occupancy soft play for under 6 year old. 2018 the adventure park opened, which is weather dependant and have a great annual membership following and in summer day can hold up to 1200 visitors. Also running along side the park, they run an autumn pumpkin picking event, which grows in size every year. This year sees there 25th winter wonderland, with great success with the GTN awards scene over the past 5 years, winning silver and gold in the greatest grotto team.
Rosebank Nurseries has now joined the Goulding family. This has been a plant and garden centre for the past 10 years. Since taking ownership in January 2026, there has been through a major refurbishment with a new plant area erected, restaurant and toilet refurbishment. The restaurant now has 120 covers. Shop is fully stocked with everything you need for your home and garden. The new site has been rebranded as River View at Gouldings.
The Gouldings would like to thank the Scott family for the smooth transition over the past year. And wishing them all success at their own site, Reynard Nursery and garden centre at Carluke.
