Business as usual after storm lashed Olive Tree Café

Last week’s strong winds caused a surprise for the Olive Tree Café customers in South Downs Nurseries when the cafe roof blew off.

Pam from South Downs Nurseries said: “We’re right at the foot of the South Downs, and it was the particular angle in which the wind caught underneath the roof that cause it to tear off. Every other part of the centre was ok.”

The roof was repaired within 24-hours by the in-house team, and all of the employees of the family-run centre mucked in to mop up the rainwater, which had left the café ‘like a swimming pool’.

It’s now business as usual for the level-headed team, with no lasting damage to the centre.
