Thetford Garden Centre achieves B Corp Certification

Thetford Garden Centre has announced its new status as a Certified B Corporation (B Corp). This prestigious certification, awarded by B Lab, recognizes companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability across five key areas: governance, workers, customers, community, and the environment.

Lucy Nixon, Managing Director, expressed her pride in this achievement: “We are extremely proud to be the first Garden Centre in the UK to receive this certification. Gaining B Corp has been a two-year journey. While it doesn’t mean we are perfect, it demonstrates our commitment to doing good.

“We have implemented practices and processes that align with B Lab’s high standards, enabling ethical decision-making. We are now part of a global movement that views business as a force for good. We hope to inspire other small and medium-sized family businesses, whether in our region or industry, to pursue this certification. It’s truly the way business should be done.

“The retail and hospitality industry has faced significant challenges in recent years. Having something like this to celebrate, especially at Christmas, is wonderful for our team.”

B Corp is a global community of leaders who are aligned and dedicated to transforming the global economic system to benefit all people, communities, and the planet. This movement aims to build a more resilient and sustainable future for everyone.
