A new show garden is bringing creative planting ideas and inspiration to gardeners in Peterborough. Horticultural experts at Notcutts Garden Centre, on Ham Lane in Orton Waterville, have unveiled the garden at a community ribbon cutting event.
Caroline Notcutt, Vice-Chairman and Great-Granddaughter of Notcutts Garden Centres founder Roger Crompton Notcutt, cut the ribbon alongside local guests, customers and the Notcutts Peterborough team.
The Notcutts Garden is a permanent display at the garden centre, offering inspiration for gardeners for their own outdoor spaces at home. Notcutts are passionate about the environment and wildlife and have selected plants that are loved by bees and are perfect for pollinators. In addition, plants that produce vibrant berries that birds and other wildlife can enjoy have been introduced. The garden was designed and built by Notcutts’ Visual Merchandising Manager Pam Garside, Tony Jones Plant Buyer and members of the local team.
Caroline Notcutt, Vice-Chairman of Notcutts, said: “We are proudly celebrating our 125th anniversary this year and our new Notcutts Garden truly illustrates the best of what we do at Notcutts. We have a longstanding heritage at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, winning 50 Gold medals over the years, so we’re pleased to bring our expertise in planting and garden design to the local Peterborough community.”
Mark Washington, General Manager at Notcutts Peterborough, said: “Thank you to all who joined us for the special opening event. We are thrilled to unveil our new garden which showcases our horticultural skills and offers planting inspiration for customers all year round, it is a wonderful addition to our garden centre.”
